Small Accolade Inspires BIG TIME!

A favorable chapter critique, encouraging words from your writing pals, a hug from your thirteen year old son...all reasons to celebrate life's small successes. Los Angeles Writer's Day gave me my first such accolade and I milked it for all its worth by allowing myself to dream that someday...just maybe...if I find the right editor...and if he/she likes my story...and if my voice is right...and if it does get published...and if eleven year old girls across the country can't wait to read more about the adventures of my Greenwood Girls...then maybe I would be asked to write about Year II at Greenwood Academy.
So that's what I did. Using the helpful tools from my recent workshop with R.L LaFever's Plotting workshop(magnificent author of "Theodosia: Serpent of Chaos" http://www.theodosiathrockmorton.com/) I came up with an outline for my ENTIRE SECOND YEAR!!! Yeah! And let me just say to all my old and new writing friends, that this time, I have conflict. Yup. It's there. This time I planned for it. Poor Dree has no idea what she's in for next year. And she thinks the school has changed for the better! Stay tuned. Yummo stuff!

  1. YES! That's fantastic:):) You're jamming on that story. And yes, that day will come. I'm sure of it. I love Dree and the girls. And, heck, if the CW gets a hold of it, might be able to take over Gilmore Girls slot on Tuesday. DREAM BIG:)

PS. LOVE the penguins. SO adorable...

  2. Thanks, Laura. It seems like a never-ending cycle of revisons but at least I still love the story after all these years!
